The Palatine Packet, published by the Saugerties Historical Society and the History Department of the Town of Germantown, recalls the busy courier boats that carried news, mail and cargo between towns and cities, great harbors and modest landings, on the waterways of Europe and America. The Packet exchanges news between Germantown and Saugerties, of the West Camp and East Camp of the Palatines in the early 1700s. Readers are invited to offer family stories of Palatine history, drawings, photographs and other memorabilia during this tricentennial year; all material will be carefully digitized and returned. Readers who want to help with production costs are invited to subscribe to The Packet at its bargain rate: "$10 For 300 Years."
